Hey everyone - sorry for disappearing again like I always do ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ - but I’m back finally with some cool news !!
Dead Detention
Firstly- after an insanely long delay, I finally got around to porting Episode 5 and 6 of Dead Detention Rescribbled to html5! Episode 5 will release next week. I can't believe I put it off so long - I really apologise for that!! I was just juggling too much at once, and it fell to the wayside...
The bright side of the delay though is I’ve released 5 major updates to the desktop version since launch, so it'll at least release at a much higher quality than it would've originally.
I'm also gradually going through and updating Episodes 1-4 to bring them up to parity with the Desktop version. These include improved visuals, microgames, controls and lots more!! (They’re definitely worth revisiting - they look and play so much better now!) I just have Episode 3 and 4 left to update iirc...!
Faye Falling
My RPG Faye Falling also just released on consoles through Eastasiasoft! I only have control over the PC version I released last year - but I’ve played and beat the Switch version and it runs and looks perfect on Switch 2! (I’ve also heard PlayStation is a good port too - if anyone’s played the Xbox version let me know how it is!) I also got my first professional metacritic review for it too - 4 stars out of 5!
Having something I worked really hard on running on a nintendo console specifically is just such a cool feeling - it's an absolute dream come true! :)
You can check out the console ports here and my PC version on Steam or itch!
New Things....!
I also have some new projects I’ll be revealing soon...they're called:
- Spin Spirits (a cozy sim/fighting/crafting game) (this I have really cool news for, but this blog post is already too long)
- Like Papercuts (another papery visual novel)
- Her Crown of Blood (a horror walking simulator)
This has been a very...intense year for me - some very high highs, and very low lows, but I've never been this excited about game development. I guess I kinda feel like I'm finally as good at this as I always wished I was; or thought I should be. I can't wait to show everyone what I've been working on.
Thanks for reading + playing + checking out my dumb little projects,
Jack
